Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board
Mr. Chesonis joined Sweetwater as CEO in December 2011 after also serving as its Chairman since 2010. Prior to Sweetwater, Mr. Chesonis served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of PAETEC Holding Corp., a Fortune 1000 telecommunications company acquired in 2011 by Windstream Corp. (NASDAQ: WIN), one of the largest national telecom carriers. Mr. Chesonis founded PAETEC in 1998.
President and Executive Vice President
Jack Baron
Mr. Baron served as the founding Chief Executive Officer of Sweetwater Energy from 2009-2011, and since December of 2011 has served as the company’s President. He also serves on Sweetwater’s Board of Directors. Prior to his position at Sweetwater Energy, Mr. Baron was Co-founder, President and Chief Marketing Officer at PAETEC Corp., a Fortune 1000 company with over $2 billion in annual revenue.
Chief Technology Officer
Scott Tudman
Mr. Tudman is responsible for the overseeing all science and engineering related to all of Sweetwater’s development and projects. Prior to Sweetwater, Mr. Tudman was the Director of Project Management at Environmental Credit Corp. where he led corporate-wide project management and engineering activities for greenhouse gas reduction and renewable energy initiatives.
Chief Financial Officer
Algimantas Chesonis
Mr. Algimantas (Al) Chesonis, has been Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Sweetwater since February 2019, and previously Chief Administrative Officer since March 2012. Mr. Chesonis leads all aspects of accounting, treasury, tax, financial reporting and human resources.
Senior Vice President Real Estate and Construction
James Hvisdas
Mr. Hvisdas is responsible for overseeing the construction of Sweetwater’s sugar-production facilities. Prior to joining Sweetwater, Hvisdas served as PAETEC’s Executive Vice President of Operations, where he was responsible for company-wide operations, providing executive oversight of engineering, construction, maintenance, and operation.
Sweetwater Energy uses a unique technology for producing low-cost nanofibrillated cellulose, microcrystalline cellulose, sugars, and clean lignin from non-food plant materials to help meet the modern world's increasing bioenergy and biochemical demands.
