Mr. Baron served as the founding Chief Executive Officer of Sweetwater Energy from 2009-2011, and since December of 2011 has served as the company’s President. He also serves on Sweetwater’s Board of Directors. Prior to his position at Sweetwater Energy, Mr. Baron was Co-founder, President and Chief Marketing Officer at PAETEC Corp., a Fortune 1000 company with over $2 billion in annual revenue. At PAETEC, he was responsible for regional and national divisions including sales, marketing, product engineering and account management, as well as full P&L for 6 six subsidiary company acquisitions. Previous to his tenure at PAETEC, Mr. Baron was National Vice President of Sales and Marketing at ACC Telecom from 1995-1998 where his teams grew annual company revenues over 300% in 3 years to $108 million, while increasing annual net profit ten fold to over $30 million. Prior to ACC, Mr. Baron served as President at a four year engineering college, ETI Technical College in Cleveland, and as National Vice President of Private Banking at Goldome Bank.

Mr. Baron earned his B.S. in Biochemistry with a concentration in Neuroscience from the University of Rochester, and earned his M.B.A. from Syracuse University with a concentration in marketing, graduating summa cum laude. Mr. Baron was recognized as one of Rochester Business Journal’s top 40 under 40 in 2001 for his outstanding professional accomplishments coupled with his charitable and community involvement.

Board, Community, and Charitable Pursuits

Mr. Baron is EVP on the Board of Directors for the Harley School, and serves on the Boards of Directors for the Hajim Engineering College at the University of Rochester, the Young Entrepreneurs Academy, and on two private company boards: Affle Mobile Media and Onestream Communications, where he serves as Chairman. Mr. Baron is also Assistant Scoutmaster at BSA Troop 37 in Rochester NY and previously served on charitable boards for Unity Health, Habitat for Humanity, the Boy Scouts of America, MCC Foundation, and Compeer. Mr. Baron is also lead vocalist and guitarist for The Third Rail, an Upstate NY rock band, and Don’t Know Jack, an upstate NY acoustic guitar band.
